CAREER DEVELOPMENT: NIKHIL NORONHA AND KEVIN ESCAMILLA


 
 

Committee Description:

The Career Development Committee helps members discover what career path suits them best based on their own personality and interest, keeps members informed about upcoming job opportunities, reviews and improves the resumes of Sigma Alpha Delta members, prepares members for job interviews and professional networking, maintains and runs the mentorship program and assists in the retention of Sigma Alpha Delta.   

 

Goals:

  1. Ensure all members have a professional resume

  2. Prepare members for professional interviews

  3. Improve networking skills necessary for attaining a job or internship and working in the professional environment

  4. Inform members on the best options for finding a job/internship offered at Baruch College and elsewhere.

Requirements:

  • Submit STARR-reviewed resume (March 14 Deadline)

  • Have an updated LinkedIn Profile

    1. Professional photo, biography

    2. Connect with Top 4, Career Development’s Chairs, and Vice Chairs

    3. Have at least 3 bullet points under “Experience” tab

    4. Attend at least 1 workshop hosted by Career Development

    5. Attend a Site Visit

    6. Pass Interview

VICE CHAIRS


GIGI KAUR
Vice Chair of Marketing & Advertising
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promoting various Career Development events on Sigma’s Social Media platform (Facebook and Instagram)

  • Creating newsletters to inform committee members about upcoming professional events, in addition to promoting it around the school through posters and flyers

  • Ensuring that all events are promoted in an effective manner


ANNA NG
Vice Chair of Research & Operations
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting surveys to evaluate the performance of various workshops

  • Spearheading in professional workshops

  • Provide student guidance with their resumes


DAVID TROPIANSKY
Vice Chair of Public Relations
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reaching out for potential Office Tours throughout the semester

  • Connecting with professionals to develop professional relationships for the society

  • Assisting the Chair in reaching out external and internal professionals for alumni mentorship dinner, mentorship program, and various workshops


DAVID MARIN
Career Development Secretary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Tracking prospective member’s requirements for the committee along with Sigma general requirements

  • Reviewing prospective member’s transcripts and resumes to ensure they meet Sigma’s requirements

  • Reaching out to prospective members within the committee about Sigma requirements and ensuring that all are met for induction
