Pantry and Meal Service at Masbia - Flatbush

Task: For pantry, volunteers will weigh and bag produce for distribution on the following pantry day. For meal service, volunteers will assist with sign-in and seating, portion hot meals, serve dinner trays and help bus trays and wipe tables.

Background: Founded in 2005, Masbia currently operates a network of four soup kitchens throughout Brooklyn and Queens. As New York’s only kosher soup kitchen they provide hundreds of hot, nutritious meals on a daily basis. In addition, their Weekend Take-Home Package program distributes supplemental packages of groceries every week. Masbia works to not only feed the hungry, but to provide free, wholesome, and delicious meals for people in a restaurant-style environment, with volunteer waiters serving each person with respect and dignity.
