Task: Come join families and friends of Randall's Island in their Treasure Hunt Event! The day is a celebration of maps, cartography, navigation, and local history. We'll have educational components introducing different types of maps, historical activities, light refreshments, and the best part: two orienteering courses, one for children and one for adults!

Background: Randall’s Island Park comprises most of an island in the East River, between East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens. The Randall’s Island Park Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with the City of New York and local communities to provide an innovative and exciting destination through a wide range of sports venues, cultural events and environmental exploration. As the dedicated steward of Randall’s Island Park, the Alliance sustains, maintains, develops and programs the Park to support the well being of all New Yorkers.
